Your Rights as a Participant

Bamboo Home Support is committed to upholding the rights of every participant. As a person receiving our services, you have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect at all times
  • Receive safe, quality care that meets your needs and goals
  • Have your privacy and confidentiality respected
  • Be involved in decisions about your care and support
  • Make complaints and have them addressed fairly and promptly
  • Receive services free from discrimination, abuse and exploitation
  • Be supported in a culturally safe and responsive manner
  • Access information about your services and service agreements
  • Choose and change your support provider

Your Responsibilities

To help us provide you with the best possible service, we ask that you:

  • Treat Bamboo Home Support staff with respect and courtesy
  • Provide accurate and complete information relevant to your care
  • Inform us of changes to your needs, goals or circumstances
  • Notify us as early as possible if you need to cancel a service
  • Adhere to the terms of your Service Agreement
  • Maintain a safe environment for support workers visiting your home

NDIS Participant Rights

As an NDIS participant, you are also protected by the NDIS Code of Conduct and the rights outlined in the NDIS Act 2013. These rights are in addition to your rights under Australian consumer law.
